  • does alot of the fuel get wasted then how does the thing actually work i mean you have turbulence and all

  • The probe has a sliding piece that moves back to reveal the holes when it makes contact with the female section inside the basket. Ground crews use a dummy recepticle to check the slide moves at the correct spring pressure.This ensures that it's a tight seal.

  • @swissarmour Sometimes fuel does get waisted. Looks like in the video it didn't quite seal properly. They usually lose a bit when they disconnect too. It happens too if they develope mechanical problems after they refuel. Then they have to dump fuel to get down to a certain weight before they can land. They say it evaporates before it gets to the ground but I have trouble believing that. Who knows....
