It's been said that the final music wasn't finished when they were filming the closing credit sequence for The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. Composer Michael Boddicker told the crew to just use "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel as a placeholder because the songs had the same tempo. So we just dropped in some "Uptown Girl" to see how it really went down.
