Wolf D Prix is the charismatic face of COOP HIMMELB(L)AU, an Austrian architecture firm that base their ethos on gravity defying forms and have created such enigmatic designs as the BMW Welt in Munich. For this year's exhibition "Out There" Prix revisited an earlier idea from 1969, "Astroballon" and has built a large cloud-like space that amplifies two human heartbeats in real time, a cloud that connects two bodies as one.
Prix displays why he has come to be known as the Rocker of the architecture scene, addressing the syndrome of the bland "decaf architecture", the limits of the computer and urging architects to carry on provoking. In his own words - "Architecture must burn!".
I doubt it's about skill, because they were paying everyone (there were about 10 interns) -and I know a friend of mine also got paid for his internship Summer 2010, maybe they changed their policy sometime later perhaps.

@dorukcanozcifci Maybe you were so good, they payed you. I know at least two people, who finished internships there, and these few people know at least few more - none of them god paid for their internships. They ALL HAD TO PAY TO THEM (COOP HIMMELBLAU)!!!

He (his company) is one of the rare ones in Austria (if not the only one), that does not pay internships.
This is something against all human and professional principles.
