Why do people insist that man/woman is the best way to bring up kids when there are so many examples of heteros who are bad parents?

Heterosexuality/homosexuality per se have NOTHING to do with parenting. It's two DECENT, MORAL people who will raise a child best.

I can't stand when people say they want to "protect the sanctity of marriage" by denying it to gay people but they NEVER say anything about divorce. When the divore rate is 50% in our country divorce should be their first priority. But no, they only focus on gay marriage.
