This program prepares graduates to perform as multi-skilled practitioners qualified to provide health care under the direct supervision of a physician in a doctor's office, hospital or clinic. Performing a wide range of skills, the Medical Assistant will be able to meet the demands of a rapidly changing health care field. The Medical Assistant is trained in secretarial skills, scheduling and receiving patients, handling incoming mail, correspondence, filing, insurance claims, patient accounting and collection, scheduling and performing a wide range of diagnostic tests, CPR, EKGs, injections, assisting the physician with minor surgeries and handling some emergency situations. Please realize these are only examples of many opportunities which may be available to qualified graduates.
