My Mom is very political and she got me involved with Nick Popaditch, a true American hero, who is running for Congress here in California.
I told Nick I thought we should just go out and talk to the people in his district, see what they had to say and let him tell them his views.
We spent an afternoon wandering up and down 3rd Street in Chula Vista, CA, just talking to the folks we found.
I supplied the gear and a couple of my good friends as camera ops... Gerard Black and Scott Reed. I field produced and ran audio... yeah, that's me dipping the boom in every once in a while. I told the camera guys not to worry about it as, again, these are real people and they don't do well with "do-overs."
Bill Coe did the final mix and did his usual fine job.
This is the result of that afternoon... and about 20 hours of logging, logging, logging. I'm a big believer is logging your footage!
Oh, and I didn't coach a single one of the interviewee's to say "Vote for Nick," They all came to that conclusion themselves.
