@LeBob25 i believe sloopiness and slower tempo was what this kind of bands wanted back on the 90's, and i think it's better cause they might sound exactly like this live, not like modern music that sounds fantastic on record because of studio tricks and then sound like crap live

this is indie emo, part of a 90's emo revival wave of bands that mixed alternative rock/indie with emo, of course this band is more on the alternative side ( with the get up kids, braid and american football) of it but there's bands that a bit more agressive though of course not as agressive as hardcore punk (this bands are also called screamo bands) like pg 99 and city of caterpillar
if you prefer the new veins of post hardcore that came in the mid 2000 thats ok but just know that's not emo
