I am getting stuck at the reboot portion, i get to about 4 to 5 bars, then windows says that redsn0w stopped working and it will look for a solution. I tried renaming the file in the updates, and no luck. Running Windows Vista and downloaded the zip with firefox. any suggestions out there. Iphone is 3g virgin (never been hacked) w 4.2.1 and 05.15.04. Thanks.

@sleeps41 I have never had this issue before. Try right clicking on the exe and selecting "Run as Administrator", I have heard that helps sometimes.

iphone 3g dfu mode is still a pain in the ass.

@yukorachi In redsn0w, read the steps on going into DFU mode carefully. If it still does not work then try making sure the USB cable and drivers are working.
