First day back doing gymnastics after several weeks off. Damn this is a hard sport. Still no grips. Worked my baby release move, straddle cuts. Developing a bad bent leg habit on the regrasp. Tried to do drop kips. They are good for conditioning and for isolating the kip. My bent arms are a no no though. Side ariels, which I will be able to do until the day I die. And a little bit of front tumbling to test out my still somewhat spongy ankle. I had fun.

  • wow your really good! just a tip for your puch fronts.. punch your hands up instead of behind you, then you'll have more height and you'll be able to walk out of it :)

  • @AliceInGymLand I was actually trying to do a russian lift, which is the way I learned them when I was a kid. I tried the overhanded punch too, but the result was mostly the same--I'm still not walking out of them. Soon I hope though! Thanks for the comment.

  • Awesome Laura...you should come up with a name for that bum-bounce dismount you pulled off. That was insane...ha, ha...

Nice to see you still have it!

  • @BRETZERR I don't exactly have it anymore. But, I'm hoping I can get a little more of it back. We'll see. I'm still a real chicken in the gym--there's not much I'm willing to go for. The fear of injury is really holding me back.

  • I want to learn aerials soooo bad! :(

  • @mmhscheer11 You just got to go for it. Keep your chest high, drive that back leg up hard, and be brave enough to NOT put your hands down!

  • awesome!

  • Bars suit you extreme well!

  • @emilysgotchalk Keep working on them. You'll get them! It's just a numbers game when learning a new skill.

  • @deadlift99 I try to have fun. It would be a mistake for me to take myself or my efforts too seriously.
