If you recently got a new notebook or laptop computer with Windows Vista x64 installed and found the sound to be weak (as in you have to set it to maximum just to get decent audio levels) then check the BIOS settings. I found my new laptop to be set at half, set it to maximum, and now it's alright.

  • You may have just troubleshooted a problem for me, Joe. Thank you.

  • You're welcome. I'm glad I didn't have to update drivers. Windows Vista audio is pretty impressive but it was so weird how weak it was until I fixed the BIOS settings. At full blast it was less that half of my old laptop's volume; turns out it was half the volume. LOL

  • Lol, yeah. You're pretty good with computers I've noticed. Is that what you do for a living?
