The Fair Flower of Northumberland, Alistair Hulett, live @ A Boxful of Treasures Folk Club Forlì, Italy, on May 25 2006. A traditional ballad of the early nineteeth century, based on History and Folklore. Alistair Hulett recorded this amazing traditional song on his wonderful Cd Riches And Rags (2005) with Gavin Livingstone, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan.
It is an outlaw ballad from the badlands around Berwick on Tweed, learnt by Alistair many years ago from the singing of Enoch Kent, guitarist with the mid-sixties Glasgow band The Exiles. Alistair is a great Hero of Scottish Folk Music & Culture !
