Nestor had a great impact on my and my early students' tango culture. His 10 days with us in Umbria in March 2001 was like being in Tango University. The stories never stopped; I couldn't get enough of his view of tango history. I so admired him as a dancer - his musicality, his milonguero elegance, and most of all his spirit. I am still grateful for the days he spent in my home, and his non-stop teaching from his heart. I miss you, Maestro!

Without your devoted friendship, it would be almost impossible to pay homage to such a fabulous dancer. Lately, I met Patricia, Nestor's widow, in Buenos Aires that mentioned to me how she keeps an unperishable souvenir of his beloved mentor and partner. Nestor Ray is very inspirational and it is so fortunate that you could share with us moments of his exquisite public performances.
