In the fall of 2002 the United States began a march toward war with Iraq. After rapid military success, it became painfully apparent there was no plan to secure the peace. A chronology of the Iraq war is told in Gestures.
"Gestures chronicles U.S. involvement in Iraq with short bits of text accompanied by appropriate hand gestures—thumbs up and down, an okay sign, the finger and so on; short and punchy, the piece artfully captures five years of misguided policy in two minutes." - LA Weekly.
Gestures was produced on a Fisher-Price childrens video camera, manufactured in 1987, for the PXL THIS 16 Festival in Venice CA. The festival director, Gerry Fialka, has subsequently designated Gestures as one of 14 "Best of PXL This" videos selected from the hundreds of PXL2000 videos of the last 16 festivals. Thanks for that Gerry!!
Nice one - that's a really clear picture for a PXL and a great idea.

Thanks. The PXL2000 camera was reconditioned and "circuit bent" by a guy named Waterhed. It now has a video amp and RCA out for audio and video. I take the video right into an MPEG 2 capture card. I think these are the reason for the improved fidelity.
