  • When talking about Death, Schubert ALWAYS uses major keys!

    Unbelievable.

  • @LizTheSinger Yes, but it's only major key because the wanderer is dreaming, as soon as he wakes up and is back in reality Schubert uses minor keys and dissonant intervals because the wanderer has depressions, just like Schubert had. I think that the wanderer and Schubert are very similiar to each other.

  • @LizTheSinger Wow, that never occurred to me before but it's totally true! Great examples: Bflat piano sonata, or the des baches wiegenlied from Die Schone Mullerin...

  • Very fine.

  • Wow he truly is awesome the best i've found yet ! great signing and piano playing !

  • I am Mr. Quasthof's baritone is first heard, Mr. Barenboim is a ramantic passion as accompaniment to his song pulled.

  • rly good....but my favorit interpretations of this song are wirt Goerne and Brendel and Dieskau with Barenboim....

  • krass woher er die resonanz nimmt. wunderbar

  • Beautiful.

A triumph of art over adversity.
