point being that the international bankers do not need to maintain all the paper currencies. dollars can be allowed to fall if euros and other currencies remain. not to mention new currencies like the IMF's SDR's.
-
The reason they need to maintain it is so they can continue the shirade and keep buying real assets i.e. gold, silver, oil, etc... with it. When you have control over something like money, why would you bring the system to the point of collapse where u no longer have that control? It's either they don't have as much control as some people think or the devaluation is on purpose for some reason. That reason would be to benefit them and destroying their cash cow would not benfit them. Would it?

when the bankers hold gold, silver, oil, and debt contracts, what need have they to maintain the value of the dollar? it is worthless as the paper.

because the government thinks it will "get credit flowing" again and the economy on the road to "recovery". in fact the government doesn't have the ability to do that because it doesn't have any money. all it can and is doing is redistribute wealth. all it is doing is as you said, devaluing the dollar to the point where nobody, in this case foreign governments, wants to buy U.S. treasuries anymore. then the government will need a bailout, or just raise taxes and further exacerbate this crisis

Referring to the Jaguar Analogy.
Also, once the Jaguar company has made a lot of Jaguars to the point where they realize it is not worth anything anymore, they will stop in order to try and raise the value back up. If you have a specific product i.e. Jaguar, US Dollar, etc... why would you devalue it to the point where nobody wants it anymore?

high5flyer, then tell the FED to stop producing more credit. We are in credit up to our necks, we cannot afford to pay the interest anymore.
