ditch the matches and get a lighter..just my opinion.

@Stillmaineiac88 The gloves are now on a carabiner on a zipper inside, the pocket was stuffed to capacity. The rest of my EDC has most everything but the space blanket isn't a bad idea. I would run with a garbage bag rather than a poncho only because in my experience cheap ponchos aren't worth didly. Has to be better than nothing though!

Good tips. I also keep a cheap $.87 poncho and a Mylar survival blanket in the chest pockets along with a compass and two Handwarmers. My wool hat is a bit biggish for the pockets so I safety pin in to the upper liner between my shoulder blades. I've got an older military wool scarf. I double it and pin it lower in the jacket. It goes around my kidneys and adds an extra layer of protection for them. I've added a short length of 550 cord and a SAK (Executive?) as a zipper pull.

You're right about the poncho. I am going to dump it and put in an oversized trash bag in its place. Its funny how I knew the poncho was crap but, it never occured to me to upgrade until I saw it in print. I forgot to mention that my coat has a hood that rolls up into the collar. I leave it out, and zipped a 40' hank of 550 cord in there.
