I was there, too! So cool to find this on YouTube. Does anyone remember who the opening band was? Thanks for posting!

Typical Philly...worse sports fans in history and worst rock fans too.

What kind of idiot would throw a glass bottle at STEVEN FUCKIN TYLER?!

Hello Again - Just copped this from Wikipedia, so it seems both Perry and Tyler were injured. "A tour was scheduled for the fall of '77, but increasing violence at concerts eventually derailed it. A cherry bomb was thrown onstage in Philadelphia at The Spectrum in October 1977, injuring both Perry and Tyler." So, you were right.

@HearingLossProvider I am 50 now, and my memory isn't what it used to be, but I am fairly sure that Tyler got hit in both concerts. It is possible that Joe got hit is well.

@mielazul Incredible! Would:nt surprise me if was in Philly! They did play there on 6/13/72,I was age 12 then.

@catchtherainbow1975 Funny you mention bonfires. I was recently looking at a picture of Jimmy Page on the 1972 US tour. He's sitting on a chair on stage, obviously during the acoustic set, but he's looking off to the balcony of the venue, with a kind of "WTF?" look...and you can see beyond him that a fairly sizable fire is blazing away up there. I think it was in San Diego, but I'd have to check.

@mielazul Ah,the daze of old!I remember actual "bonfires"breaking out at various areas in the crowd at the Philly Spectrum in the mid to late 70"s.Fireworks lauched from within the audience bouncing off the ceiling at a Skynyrd show in "76.A stoned girl falling from the rafters into the crowd below at a Foghat show.(she survived with minor injuries!)M-80"s,fireworks of all type flying about during some shows.Yes,it really seemed like a combat zone!
holy crap - my Dad took me (11) and by brother (9) to this show. I tell the story of Steven Tyler getting hit by a bottle and stopping the show - but it's such a hazy memory I didn't know if it really happened. (Maybe because it was the first time I ever got a contact high...) But it's just like I remember it. People rioting in the parking lot afterwards...the best story you could ever tell in 6th grade the next day. Youtube is amazing.

That was Joey, he said Steven got hit in the face. Not Steven.
