Are you kidding me!! Im a product designer and have been following the TESLA roadster for as long as they had first mentioned the development after watching the movie "Who killed the electric car"... Watch it and learn to see what technologies we have or dont have! We are limited by greedy capitalist pigs that look out for their own pocket and not the greater good. Being a designer, I get turned down whenever we try and move towards green technologies! There are no limits!

@olhokunamifresquinho How right you are! People always think that the "evil car companies" are run by "capitalist pigs" who are witholding technology to stuff their pocketbooks, for a good example see misinformed comment by PraviRus below. I work in the industry, researching batteries, fuel cells and charging stations for a living and I can say that as of 2011 the current state of the art technology is nowhere near competetive with a modern internal combustion engine car. Solar is even worse.

@olhokunamifresquinho It's not a technology issue, it's simply that using petroleum is still cheaper than say, switching every vehicle to run on electricity and replacing all the gas stations into battery charging/switching stations
