Rome Total War - Hastati vs. Numidian Legionaries

Rome's basic warriors face off against Numidia's premiere infantry! Although the Numidian Legionaries are intended to be the equals of Principe's, the Hastati give them a very good show. It only takes a Hastati with two easily obtainable bronze chevrons to soundly defeat a Numidian Legion.

Hastati are available to Roman factions from the start of the game, whereas Numidian Legionaries require significant town and military upgrades.

The battle was fought on Grassy Flatland - however, Numidian Legionaries do get a bonus in desert conditions. This was tested, but results were negligible (the Hastati actually did better than usual). This facet of the Numidian's would likely appear only during a long battle.
