I've heard quite a few covers of " Summertime " by lots of jazzmen...Miles among them...would anyone happen to know if this Carl Perkins is the same guy associated with " Blue Suede Shoes " ? I would laugh, but wouldn't be surprised. Just as an example, I'd always heard that before hitting it big with Cream...both Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were also jazz musicians...just wondering...and thanks if anyone knows...

Carl Perkins which you ask is a white rockabilly musician.
Carl Perkins playing the piano here is a different person, black jazz pianist, with the same name.

@60otaku4 Thanks for the info...I figured it was just a coincidence, but you never know. By the way, this cover is one of the better ones that I've heard. Jazz is a wonderful thing and people who don't get it, just don't know what they're missing.

Sumertime marked my adolescent life and listening to Art Pepper was wonderfully perfect.! 5/*
