2.
I BELIEVE
(Ervin Drake - Jimmy Shirl - Irvin Graham - Al Stillman)
« Gentleman Jim Music, ASCAP »

I believe for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night a candle glows
I believe for every one who goes astray someone will come to show the way
I believe I believe

I believe above the storm the smallest prayer will still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word
Every time I hear a new born baby cry or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe

(I believe above the storm the smallest prayer will still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word)
Every time I hear a new born baby cry or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe I believe

  • Excuse me, are you tone deaf?

  • I think this is the wrong song for her (like Janis Joplin singing "Killling me Softly"), no matter how much she wants to put it across. As a song, it's pretty maudlin. Kiri te Kanawa loves it and it's part of her repertoire, also an unfortunate pairing.

  • Loretta sang this song Beautifully... I love her singing this song I playit all the time..

  • I'm no music expert, but I don't see why this is getting so much hate. It certainly showcases more talent than Elvis' screechy rendition.

  • @ferociousgumby shes on pitch. What are you talking about?

  • are your nuttss Lorretta sounds liek and angel here and she has never sang a song that doesn't fit her. I ferevently disagree with you and think you are tone DEAF WITH CAPITOL DEAF!!!!!!!

  • I dont know why ppl are saying this isnt a good song for her

  • It is a very rare day that I hear Loretta sing a song that I feel doesn't fit her, this is one of those days. Most songs she sings she makes sound like no one on earth but her could sing it but this song just is not her best. It seemed very boring. Reminded me of a piano bar where the singer knew no one was paying attention, the wow factor that I am used to with most songs Loretta sing isn't there (for me) on this song. Maybe the Wilburns made her sing this one?

  • This is a truely timeless and beautiful song. It brings tears to my eyes almost every time I listen to it. And there is just something about Loretta Lynns version I mean it just fits her vocals so well. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!

  • it's so so... how do you say it? OLD

  • I believe she did good & i love Loretta ;)

  • @ferociousgumby I rather like Dame Kiri's version. Jessye Norman has also done a very nice job of it.
