that was one big ass monkey shad. We have small shad but huge catfish and bass

@LukNoSe7en those r probably American shad (Whites), they get much larger than the hicks do.. diff species

sweet! this is pretty upstream from that spot..I've fished there alot..good times indeed! u can go way past 95 too and 3 streams meet up like a mile past there!

Never have fished for these - yall eat any of em? I know folks eat shad row(sp?) but wonder about the fish itself.

@Jake73B well, their cousin, the American Shad is called the founding fish because our forefathers ate the crap outta these fish to stay alive! but they are VERY oily. some people do like them though. The natives would smoke them on hickory planks hence the name Hickory shad!
