@emmagpies Well actually Thai Culture is kinda derived from that of the Khmers. Most of this can be found within Khmer and Thai Dancing. Thai dancing is base off of Khmer Dancing and the cultures are somewhat similiar. But, both have their influences ^^

Most of Thai Culture is influenced by Dvaravari and Lavo Kingdom and some Sri Vijaya Kingdom NOT KHMER EMPIRE AND KHMER CULTURE.

You have Chenla and Funan Empire (Pre-Angkor) then become Khmer Empire.

But our Kingdom is from Dvaravati and Lavo Kingdom then become Sukhothai Kingdom, Ayudhaya Kingdom, Thon Buri Kingdom and Rattanakosin Kingdom (Bangkok).

Dvaravati and Lavo Kingdom is based on central part of Thailand which is not close to Khmer Empire.

"Funan" is the Chinese word which is referred to "Nokor Phnom" in the "សម័យអាណាចក្រភ្នំ Anachak Phnom era".

Nokor means City.

Phnom means Mountain.

Anachak mean Empire.
