Hanna was filmed on location in Europe and Morocco and features beautiful cinematography and incredible vistas of mountainous, snowy landscapes. Against the backdrop of action and adventure, the film features a brilliant score by the talented and critically acclaimed electronic duo, The Chemical Brothers.

Providing further proof that Joe Wright's latest effort will completely new territory for him, First Showing have the scoop from the New York Comic Con that big beat electroheads The Chemical Brothers will be providing the music for Hanna.

Wright, who's hit rather more classical notes in the past with Atonement and Pride and Prejudice, confirmed that Hanna would be moving to "a more modern beat", and that the "brothers" Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons were the natural choice. Wright has known them since the early 90s, when he used to help them with lighting and projection at raves. Ahh, them was the days.

Twenty years into their career, The Chemical Brothers still play to audiences of thousands, but this will be the first time they've written music specifically for a movie. Their involvement with Hanna continues a recent trend of big names moonlighting on film scores, following Trent Reznor's work on The Social Network and Daft Punk's involvement with Tron: Legacy.

Starring Saoirse Ronan (Lovely Bones, Atonement), sixteen-year-old Hanna has been raised by her father Erik (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA man, to be the perfect assassin. She has lived alone with her widower father in the wilds of North Finland all of her life, learning to hunt and defend herself, and has been home-schooled using only an encyclopedia and a book of fairy tales. When she is separated from her father, Hanna must embark on a deadly mission across Europe and escape the clutches of ruthless intelligent agent Marissa (Cate Blanchett) and her operatives.
As been told it's a bit Nikita, a bit Bourne, a bit Alias and a bit Kick-Ass. Hopefully it's a bit something of its own too, and with Wright at the helm, we've every confidence.

The soundtrack to the film is exclusively available on iTunes. It features an impressive 20 original tracks by The Chemical Brothers, including both of the haunting and electronic tunes that you can hear in the trailer.
