I do think that while Christopher may show off his speed more than Michael, Michael is really just as fast, plus he can make some great heavy, and dark and even beautiful riffs.

Haha and a PERFECT example of using too much wah because they don't know how use it tastefully is Kirk Hammet. I would like to shove that wah pedal up his ass! Amott displays much more tasteful application of it, as well as more tasteful guitar playing in general haha.

That's quite common on metal bands.
If they have 2 axemen, 1 is neoclassical shredder (or a fast player like Dave Murray) and the other 1 is quite more slow, maybe more heavy and melodic (like Michael Amott)
This happens in bands like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Arch Enemy, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Gamma Ray, Kreator.
