I think you need to take a chill pill... I grew up with both the Amiga, Master System and SNES and enjoyed them all.
I can see why someone with a narrow/biased viewpoint would call this a mario rip-off, much like Tearaway thomas was a rip-off of sonic the hedgehog, although really they were just influenced by them.
End of the day you aren't going to be able to change opinion by swearing at people
