wow it's about 10 years ago i played this game for the last time. is there ANY way i can get it for my windows XP? i know xp cant run programs under DOS compatibility mode and i haven't seen a remake so far...

Hey, does the elf go any faster on the remake? I play the original game on DOSBox, and it's impossible to do what you do on 1.22 on my version.

Yes that is true, the elf is faster on the remake. I didn't had the sources of the original game so I adapted the behaviour for the remake while keeping the graphics as is.
