@mytt88 To try something different?? Not all of their fans love all their stuff. I happen to be one of the ones who does. Including, wait for it---- St. Anger AND Lulu. Open your mind a little and quit expecting them to always sound the same. They are grown men who know what they like and want. Just keep listening, keep it Metallica. Peace.

That's the beauty of rick rubin, He realised the band is the ones with the talent so he leaves them to it and polishes it up afterwards with his talent.
Bob rock held their hands to much and added too much of his own influence during the writing process more and more until eventually Metallica's recorded albums sounded nothing like metallica. E.g. St. Anger and no guitar solo's??? Since when is it a good idea to get rid of solo's in a band that is renowned for it's solo's...

It's funny to watch them write music...they're a bunch of idiots LOL, but at the same time you see the genius and how serious they are about wanting it to come out well...It's awesome to watch

@ajpiesano i agree especially on cyanide. That rhythm section break with the drums and bass before the verses is killer.
