Nicholas Sheley is suspected in 8 murders in Missouri and Illinois. He was arrested at a bar about 10 miles outside of Saint Louis Tuesday night after police got a tip from a bar patron. ++ The former stepfather of a missing Vermont girl is facing obstruction of justice charges for destroying evidence. Authorities won't say what that evidence may have been or if it has anything to do with the investigation into Brooke Bennett's disappearance. The girl's uncle was taken into custody on Monday and has been named a person of interest in the case. ++U-S food and drug officials are still trying to figure out what's behind a recent salmonella outbreak. Tomatoes have been the leading suspect, but they're about to start testing several other types of fresh produce. No word yet on what other vegetables are getting tracked. ++Summer is off to a rocky start for the auto industry. Nearly all the major carmakers reported huge drop offs in sales last month. The industry is blaming rising gas prices and slumping consumer confidence for their declines.
