Main character visiting his mother finds out she has been taking "uppers" for weightloss. Her way of justifying it is that she will soon be on TV in her favorite red dress on her favorite show.

  • I have a single mother who raised me and did the best she could to provide for me. Now that I moved out to attend university, I couldn't help but to feel guilty that now she is living alone with no one by her side to care for her and make her feel appreciated every day. This scene is a huge wake up call for me and anyone else to just pause your daily routines and take a minute to do your best to show love and appreciation to your family and loved ones.

  • @ggmfyb She deserved that Academy Award

  • The interesting is that her son warned her when he was still lucid.

She should've listened to her son

  • ms. burrstyn did more in this scene then julia roberts has done in her whole career,, what a shame she didnt win.

  • God Dammit... I can't believe this woman lost that academy award to Julia Roberts... this is fucking unfair!

  • @pyro2393

I'm pretty sure she was, she got a thing from the show asking her if she wanted too

  • You can notice that at the end of the scene, you see Sara at the far right. When Aronofsky was rolling this scene, he scolded the cameraman because she was not in the center: The cameraman just couldn't stand crying and couldn't move the camera at time. At the end, Aronofsky printed the scene like that.

  • @tony920226 dude i almost cried

  • She looks like Mrs. Roper from 'Three's Company.'

  • @snoppkatarr med lite extra adhd

  • @pyro2393 She did receive a "mailing" from the Infomercial. I think it was bullshit, just to get her to buy the "juice". I don't think the "producers" of the show ever intended anyone to be on their show.
