Q. Is it possible for a DVI connector to carry audio?

A. Yes, some newer video cards have the DVI connector wired for audio. And as long as a DVI to HDMI dongle or DVI to HDMI cable is used video and audio is possible. Watch the video to find out more... http://www.Support3GM.com

  • @Ecoclimber or the sound card btw. on the motherboard IF you have and use onboard sound. (you can probably ignore this eco, but its nice to clarify)

  • which cable to chip, would work best for a light speed engine?

  • ok wtf, I am a subscriber and I'm not geting the Q&A videos in my subscribtion box, pleace help!

  • you need to connect 2 pin spdif on the graphics card to 2 pin spdif out on motherboard one pin must be on spdif ground or on a audio card connect to spdif out pin if 3 pins one pin must be on the ground

  • 1. can i use a dvi-d cable

    2. female dvi -d to HDMI male ( which goes to my ps3 ) adapter

  • you guys must use a top quality video card with the 30 ft cable, cause its not working for me

  • I have the same card. You are using the DVI-HDMI adapter, right? I don't think you can get sound that way, have to run separate audio cables. Let me know if you found out something different, I just hooked mine up and no sound.

  • also, mine was 30 ft cable, no video problems and it was cheap through the Internet...$29

  • I just hooked mine up. The trick was to download the latest video drivers and install them, then reboot the PC. Then, still no Video, I went to the TV and unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged it back in. Then the computer installed the TV as a new monitor device and I was in business. I still have no audio, though because I'm using a DVI-HDMI adapter and I think I'm out of luck unless I run audio cables.
