puppy #4

With alot of help and encouragement,the last puppy made it out and mama ate the sac and chewed the umbilical cord apart as she did with all of the other little one when they arrived into the world.But this final pup was definetely not breathing and it's body was absolutely limp unlike any of the rest of the brood who all came out wiggeling and whining.I was scared for it's life buti tried to remain calm as i alternately rubbed it's tummy,then patted it's back and put my pinky in it's mouth to see if we could clear the airway.Finally it hiccupped then started taking single,gurgled,congested beaths with long pauses in between.I continued stimulating it and pushing it's faceup to Mama's forherto help lick it's mouth and face.Together we prayed for the tiny runts life.
