I play the 5 string, but I love the sound of a good old tenor banjo. Well played, sir!
-
could i get a tab of this?
-
@kingofthechevs well a 5 string banjo is your classic banjo that any banjo song can be played with, and a 6 string banjo (also known as a banjitar) is pretty much a guitar that sounds like a banjo.

@kingofthechevs if you want a real traditional banjo get the five string

Very Nice Playing! Maybe someone here can help me with this. What is the best way to start playing banjo? Should I take lessons or try on my own? And amongst all of y'all, do y'all prefer the 4, 5, or 6 string?

@Sanvorae I (as an example) learned it on my own but had 6 years of guitar lessons beforehand which made it much easier I guess to learn another string instrument. I prefer the 4 string because it is again easy for me as I am also playing the mandolin (same tuning). I may get a 6 string just for the fun of it, because there would be nothing new to learn for a guitarist. the 5 string is as far as I know a much more different instrument but I'll definately give it a try some day!

@TheDmbanjo I'm pretty sure they switch between five string and tenor right? but I you're right, this song is definately played on a five string in the original version
