I would be so pissed if I was forced to join a union just to get a job and then had to watch my hard earned money go to support politicians who are not looking out for the best interests of the country.

All of my personal experiences have proven to me that Unions are no longer a net positive for America. They simply add complexity and cost, and do nothing to foster competitiveness and progress. As such, any and all efforts to reign in the undue influence they have enjoyed, has my support. There may have been a time when Unions brought something positive to our Nation, but those days are long in the past.

All union members can, on a yearly bases, apply for any portion of their dues that was contributed to a political party they do not want to contribute to returned...its Fed law. No union member is forced to contribute to any one political party. I'm not in a union but that seems to be a hot topic so I did the research and know what the truth is.

People need to do their homework re unions. i,e, The Triangle Fire Factory in New York. One hundred and fifty workers were burned beyond recognition in the Triangle factory fire. Also public television aired an old black and white film re thugs bought and paid for by corporate money, shooting people down on a picket line. re the comment about JFK and RFK, read the book, Five Families.  Like it or not, unions are the only weapon a working class person has.
