Are you kidding me? The story line was amazing, and compelling, and even if the controls took a little bit to get used to, once you started playing it becomes natural. Everything about MGS4 is much more refined and deep then GoW. YES I've played both, and I'd take MGS4 any day over GoW. You obviously have no real taste in games.

gears of war? the only game that deserves the abrieviation is god of war and metal gear series is years in the making first of its kind splinter cell and all that wouldnt exist without metal gear along with alot of other gameplay ideas count your fucking blessings
