Eurovision 2010 Turkey: MaNga - We Could Be The Same - (turkish esc entry 2010)

MaNga is a Turkish rap rock band. Their music is mainly a fusion of alternative rock and hip hop music, with a touch of Anatolian melodies and electronic elements. In 2009 they won both, the Best Turkish Act award from MTV Turkey and consequently the Best European Act award from MTV Networks Europe in the MTV Europa Musci Awards 2009. MaNga represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "We Could Be The Same" in Oslo, Norway and gained a succedful 2nd place after the german winner Lena.

Turkish Broadcaster TRT and MaNga choosed together the song "We Could Be The Same" out of 3 songs they prepared. MaNga's rap lyrics are usually in Turkish, so they wrote an english song especially to accomodate to the eurovision song contest. MaNga tended to choose a pop-rock song for esc cause they thought it could reach a larger audience than their rap rock or nu metal songs. The song is still "MaNga Style" and includes some ethnic touches.
