As director of music at the basilica since 1988 Gail has touched the lives of many thousands and really shown how beautiful the Mass can be. The choirs she directed are among the finest liturgical choirs in the country. Rest in peace Gail. Notre Dame will miss you greatly! 2/25/2010

The director is now Dr. Andrew McShane. He's the man playing the organ in the video and at the time was the assistant director of the choir. While I'm sure filling Gail's shoes was hard, he's done an excellent job.

True, true. But as a former R.C. I know how some resist, and say singing is "Protestant". Not so, it is prayer in song. Music can offer great ecumenical rewards. Deo Gratia.
