Celebrating Christianity in Uganda
TX 14 Oct 2010 ~ Thirty years ago, under the regime of Uganda's President Idi Amin, it was illegal for Christians to openly practise their faith.
Thriving church communities were driven underground, meetings had to be held in secret and thousands of Christians were killed.
Pastor Joseph Serwadda was one of the many Christians arrested during the regime, and he was only released because of international pressure.
He now heads up the Victory Christian Centre in Uganda, spiritual home to more than four thousand people. He spoke to Allan Lee about the reasons behind Idi Amin's persecution of Christians and about today's Christian church in Uganda.
Long live Uganda! Well said Pastor Serwadda...well said!
