Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy has sent over 1 million books from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to children in participating Georgia communities. The program is free for the children because each community has a group of dedicated volunteers called a Community Action Team (CAT) that are responsible for registration, fundraising and public relations for their community. It only cost $36 per child to send a book a month for 12 months!
