Demarkus Jamall Lukes July 27, 1989 - January 14, 2009 CUSSETA, GA — Demarkus Jamall Lukes, 19, of 108 Mattie Gary Road, Cusseta, GA, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at The Medical Center Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church in Ellerslie, GA with Rev. Joseph McKelton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, according to Taylor Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Visitation is today from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Lukes was born July 27, 1989 in Bell County, TX, the son of Patti Tullie of Cusseta, GA and Jimmie Johnson of Columbus, GA. He was a construction worker. Survivors other than his parents include two brothers, James McKethan of Columbus, GA and Anthion Gable of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Sierra Lukes of Cusseta, GA and Jicoby Thomas of Columbus, GA; maternal grandmother, Mary Joyce Rutherford of Harris County, GA; fiancee, Jessica of Cusseta, GA (along with their expectant baby boy); two nieces, Jakyra and Azariah; one nephew, Keontae; four uncles, four aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends.

of life that keeps on giving!


1.)The gracious gift of Demarkus' heart was transplanted into a 44 year old woman in Georgia. She is single and is a nurse. She is doing very well since her transplant and is grateful for a second chance at life.

2.)His liver was transplanted into a 47 year old gentleman from Georgia who works as a welder. He has one daughter and because of your gift will now be able to watch her grow up. He is recovering nicely since his surgery.

3.)Demarkus' right kindney and pancreas was transplanted into a 50 year old woman.She had been on daily injections since she was very young.She is married and has three children.She had been on the waiting list since April 2008 awaiting this blessing.Her organs functioned immediately after surgery.

4.)His left kidney was transplanted into a two year old little girl who lives in Georgia.Her kidney is functioning great and she will now have the opportunity to grow up and live a happy and healthy life.


He left and saved lifes.He left and changed everyone's lives.May God bless his mother,sister Sierra, brother Deshod & the whole entire family.May Patti find comfort, peace and strength in the midst of this devistating occurance.May all of our prayers combine for the family to endure and not loose sight and faith.

Physically there was a devistating loss,but spiritually we have NOT lost.He left with us all an abundance of wonderful memories & love that shall be cherished forever.Let us come together to celebrate this beautiful life that God has blessed us with.We love you Demarkus ♥.

I am so sorry for your loss..his mothers message at the end got me into tears....He was so handsome its a shame but god always has his reasons for taking people!! It wont get easier but you will learn to live again.....
