  • Con't from below..... The 140C model is NOT like the ones found at Home Depot. (that's the inferior 140T). Second, dump using "flux core" wire and get the argon/co2 mix gas (aka: true "Mig" welding) wire set up. Gas shield mig produces a much nicer looking weld bead for things like gates and decorative weld jobs. Lastly, ignore jackass YouTube commenters!

  • Okay, first off great job! Yes the welds are too cold, but they should still "outlive" any of the three previous posters before me. Obviously you're not an experienced welder, but for this little doggie door gate, it's a fine job. Here's a few tips. Dump that welder you have and at least get the BIGGEST 120v welder you can. I suggest the Lincoln 140C model....

  • Not good stick welds on the examples shown, ok for a gate but don't do any structural stuff until you have be taught how to really lay in a weld.

  • The whole time I was saying to myself "I hope hes not getting paid to do this". Glad to see it was for your own deck.
