How to fix Renault Clio Headlight Problem

This is a short clip which demonstrates how to fix the problem common to Clio's that the lights and various other electrical devices flicker on and off.
This solution fixes:
Headlights flickering
Headlights not coming on at all
Stop and handbrake indicators coming on
Fog light coming on when brake pedal is pushed.

Hope this helps you guys, I've heard of people being charged upto £300 to get this fixed at Renault when you can do it yourself in 30 seconds and it's free!

I have a 2007 Clio and have problems with the lights not turning off and the wipers not working unless I use the washer. Othertimes it works perfectly - do you think your fix will work for this problem? Thanks

@PageyBee Hi Pagey, I don't think my solution will fix the problem. However what I suggest you do firstly is to make sure that the problem is not a loose connection from the controls around the steering wheel. When you have the problem again, try flicking the controls, the vibration may cause the connection to work.

we have a problem with the fog light indicator light coming on dash when the brake is pressed so will try this but have also been told it could be a bad earth. also have got to change the hazard switch as the mechcanism behind it has gone wrong but no idea how to take the dash off!! hoping it wont be too expensive at a garage. NOT RENAULT GARAGE!!

@TheMatleo143 Take your rear lights out, clean the contacts, that should solve your earth problem, that is if the problem is worse when there is moisture in the air. By mechanism for the hazard light, do you mean it no longer pushes in and out?

My partner has a 2005 Clio and the headlight bulb on the drivers side needed to be replaced. The problem is that the car has air conditioning and the pipes get in the way which is really annoying and frustrating. Can you offer any advice?
