Tested one of these today. After a couple of sessions i'm impressed. 2.2d has some serious pulling power, great handling. Better than the BMW 320d (2000) that i'm replacing. In Germany you can get a '125' special edition with the Bose stereo and a bunch of nice extras for about 30K Euro (2.2d). Loads of space, great looks, inside and out. Only minus points go to some flimsy plastics in various places inside and apparently thirsty engine (that can, however, be very efficient if treated nicely)

I believe that MAZDA Skyactive - D changes Japanese people's way of thinking for diesels.

The Japanese have to understand that hybrides won't come anywhere close to the mpgs and CO2 emisions as low as diesels do.

This is without doubt the best diesel car (I have driven) in this class, i tried the 185ps Sport and up againsed the Civic Type S, Golf GTD & Golf Sport, Auris SR180 and Leon FR it beat them hands down, it had everything they all had but better....

Very good car and it is extremely well positioned in the market. You get a lot of car for the money. Very well and thoroughly reviewed by Honest John. That 2.2 diesel is a good engine.
