I need to point this out-
Pangaea was not the first supercontinent. Vaalbara was that first supercontinent- it formed 3.5 billion years ago

Yes, there was a supercontinent before. The east and the west were joined. But so was the west and the east. Take that globe and look at the pacific ocean, the same thing happened. The continents of today used to make up the whole of the earth's surface: Only they were all covered in a shallow ocean. This is why cambrian fossils appear everywhere on land, but nowhere in the ocean.
