Postcards [installation version]

The Postcards series project comprises a collection of places, curious situations and memories. It is a project in endless progress: to visit touristy places and perform comparative shots using a video camera. Relating the actual postcard to the scene it portrays, the videos are usually a result of different resources, seeking for situations and moments where sounds and images can reveal more than what the landscapes usually suggest. Conceived originally as a series of short videos for the web (2000) it is also a tribute to a series of videos called Cartes Postales (1987) by Robert Cahen, Stéphanie Hunter and Alain Longuet. The Postcard project has been presented in distinctive formats, sometimes over the web, sometimes as an installation work.
