federal signal's "Q" siren is an electromechanical siren, which produces sound in the same way as an old air raid siren, not by digitally produced sound.

man that's so awesome, as soon as the leave they hit the siren. here in austria all our ambulances use the siren maybe twice a call.. that's so dumb i don't know why they do that. and at night they rarely use it at all..
but then there is a law that says if we have an accident on a call, no matter if we use or don't use any signal, it's ALWAYS our fault! even if it's obviously the others fault, like when we wait at intersection and someone bumps into our ambulance, it's our fault..
