@poparena well it turned out to be about the same if not better in least in acting

Wanna see this! Very intelligent review.

Yeah, though honestly it started with Anne Rice at least, perhaps as far back as the Dracula stage plays. As soon as they were portrayed as something other than powerful parasites, it was the beginning of the end.

@QUANTUMJOKER it reminds me of daredevil and blade 2

I love LTROI, but I'm not sure I'd classify it as a horror film. "Horror" would be about the tenth word I'd think of to describe it. It just has a horror element to it because of the vampire content. It's a coming of age story about the desperation and alienation of youth. It's a romance, a crazy generational science fiction homosexual 12 year old romance.
That's why I have no interest in Let Me In, since they're advertising it as a straight-up horror film.

I'm glad you enjoy the film as much as I do.
It's interesting that you should call it a 'homosexual 12-year old romance', as I never thought of it in the first term. We do see that Eli is, in fact, a castrated boy vampire, but I always thought of Eli as a girl. The revelation that Eli is a boy didn't have much of a purpose, to be honest.

Good review, if it wasn't for me having seen let the right one in, I would soo see it after your riview. Well told and all, apeares good HQ with mostly picstures..
I want to see Let me in, mostly to see what They have done, or manige to make out of this warmaing, disturbing and horror filt story. Afther what I know about this one (and that is alot). I think I'm still going to be on Let the right one in's side.
OOh, and BTW: Kåre Hedebrant does not look like that, that is some other gay.

@reedcostume
Um... Whoops! I found the picture on Google, and it looked like an older Kare Hedebrant, so I assumed that it was him.
Uh... It won't happen again!

I've heard about this film. I still don't see why they felt the need to remake it for American audiences. It's embarrassing when the movie industry treats us like subhuman morons who'll start shrieking and throwing our filth the moment we see something foreign.
World- we didn't ask them to do this, they did it on their own! Half the people I know have already seen the Swedish version on DVD, so they're just burning money on a new film!

@JunkyardBreadfruit
The remake was actually pretty good, but it was still more or less identical to the Swedish original. As you said, this begs the question of why America remade LTROI at all.
I heard that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo will also be remade for American audiences (groan)...
What did you think of the 'Twilight emasculates vampires' joke at the start?
