The Soviet Paradise - part 1 (Aug 1941)

German Wartime Newsreel. Die Deutsche Wochenschau.

The German Army cameraman on the eastern front not only witnessed World War II's greatest land battles, but also was a first-hand observer of life in Russia after 20 years of Soviet rule. His films of conditions inside Stalin's state were skillfully arranged by Hitler's propagandists to present a bleak picture of the Soviet paradise. Its citizenry are represented as starving children, youthful gangs, cowed laborers and wretched peasants barely existing on dilapidated collective farms or in overcrowded city slums or even homeless on the barren steppes. A deserted university and desecrated crypts of an abandoned church form dismal monuments to knowledge and faith forsaken. Although scarcely impartial, this Nazi film offers us a unique picture of the Russian interior, compiled by the only cameramen ever unrestrained by Soviet censors.

the main error of the Germans was not allowed the ukranian, bielorussians and baltics who hated Stalin fight with them. Between the soviet conquered territory in 1941 they could amase a 1 Millon army of Slavic anti-communists, and then make concessions to them like be autonomics regions in a great Reich...instead of that they fought to have colonies........When you have a plan you have to be realist. The soviets had 500 divisions, a shorter logistic lines and a -50 winter....

Nurmiar doesn't know what the word "Liberation" means. If you liberate ANY land, you just give freedom to their people and let them live in peace without bringing YOUR order upon them. Soviet propagandists always tell how they "liberated" Baltic States and the whole Eastern Europe but this wasn't any sort of liberation - just another occupation, and one of the bloodiest in history. Shame on those who are trying to deny this.

@cincinrex Nothing was made up. In fact, the German troops were received by Ukrainian, Belarussian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Russian (Smolensk), Estonian civilians with flowers and joy. And also by Cossack and Tatar populations the Germans were received with joy. Communism could only survive with immense terror and death regime, while the Nazi dictatorship in fact had popular support even outside Germany in eastern Europe (exception: Czech democrats and Polish people). This is not made up.

@lalomir2000 Germany had the war won by december 1941 if wasn't for Hitler,that maniac control freak madman, who took control of major strategic decisions, moving immense armies up and down russia and delaying conquer of MOSCOW.

Hitler was just a CORPORAL in WWI now he sits there telling his generals how to do the job, ABSOLUTE INSANITY. Churchill was a politician and a military at same time, and a good one he knew Hitler was helping the allies more than anybody else.
