Christ came to undo the evil in human existence which is sin and all its ofsprings which include poverty, sickness and many more;from Genesis to Revelation God never in any form or shade promise people calamity as reward for knowing and folowing him, he rather steps in to make bad thing good. Where do folks like Piper get thier own gospel from, it is the another gospel Paul talked about;legalistic, self abnegation to prove godliness. HYPE ALL THE WAY!!!

The issue I have with this message, is that I was under the impression that this is why the Jesus of the bible died is for our sins, it seems like it would be a contrast if you then had to follow instructions for his sacifice to be worth whle for the individuals who's cultural boundries have no Jesus of the bible in them, there are no books writen by Jesus just an interpretation of his message by men hundreds of years after his death, so this contrast may be man made?

this was a great message, especially this contrast. so often i've felt like i'm doing something for God, as if He would owe me, rather than like luke, where we are to say "we are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty." may we realize this and live it out, falling desperately at the foot of the cross of our great God and Savior, and experiencing His glorious grace.
