Rod Ethier was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Canada.
His artistic career began in the year 2000 while attending a painting workshop.
Using the media of wood, plaster and acrylic paints, Rods first piece was created.
Rods need for larger and lighter pieces led him to the use of Styrofoam for his canvas. Rich color and unique texture provide the inspiration for his work. The combination of these colours and textures give the appearance of wood, leather and metal.
Many of Rods creations are intended to hang in any orientation - vertically or horizontally thus creating a unique look from any angle.
The individual viewers imagination always allows for different interpretations, which enriches the process for Rod. Distinctive style and his open-minded attitude transform everyday materials into
one of a kind master pieces.
Public and private collectors worldwide have acquired Rods unique creations.

  • Your works would be very good not just as particular pieces - but as style concepts for different interriors of some places like clubs, art galleries... Great work)

Thank you for the comment. Designers really seem to like my work. The hard thing is restaurants and clubs. People are not sure what they are made of, and want to touch, pick and scrape at them. I tried a few places, an they just get wrecked. So I just show and sell at home.

Great guitar playing by the way. : )

    Hi Gino.

Thanks for the comment. Sorry, no web site as of yet. I do have an art page on facebook with all my work.

I checked out your work and video's. Very impressive stuff as well. I like how you think. We have a lot of the same view about our art. Keep up the great work.
